Mental Wellbeing Ambassadors

Welcome

  • Looking after our own wellbeing is paramount particularly when our role involves the welfare of others. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Grand Lodge Almoner, this course is a first in terms of providing a baseline awareness around mental wellbeing. Its primary aim is to focus support to those whose role it is to support others. This is achieved in part by undertaking the online course, together with belonging to a growing network of ambassadors, whose collective focus is to look out for and practically support each other.

  • All ambassadors start with undergoing an online foundation course that provides a level of awareness around mental wellbeing.

This specially designed course enables you to identify signs of deteriorating wellbeing, and where to access appropriate support for yourself and others. A mix of blended learning has been used to create an engaging and informative experience.

At the conclusion of the course there is a simple knowledge and understanding check to ensure all ambassadors have a consistent level of awareness around the subject area.

  • Upon successful completion of foundation training ambassadors are eligible to join their local network. This is the most essential element of the programme, being connected in with, and supported by other like minded ambassadors strengthens the ability of those who role it is to look after others.

Ambassadors have a defined role profile and understand what their limitations and boundaries are. Thereby enabling them to work within a safe and supportive framework.
